Absolutely sweet and delightful cinnamon roll of a book, with the sweetest found family. Viv is an Orc adventurer who decides to leave her past behind and set up a coffee shop. She is helped by Cal, Tandri, and Thimble. I adored Amity, the huge and terrifying cat who is a little sweetie. A happy little story with only a small amount of conflict. Mostly it's just fireplace, fuzzy blanket, snowy day, and hot chocolate vibes.
And now I really really really need a cinnamon roll.
And a real croissant. Not the crappy ones they put in supermarkets, but the real flaky ones.
Such a sweet book.
Sometimes when the author reads their own book it's really bad. This is not the case here. Travis Baldree does an absolutely excellent job of narrating. He really brought the text to life.
