Richard Osman: The Thursday Murder Club: A Novel (Paperback)

A delightfully fun cosy murder book with interesting and humorous characters.

Unfortunately it gets bogged down at the end.  A lighthearted story gets waaaay too sad and serious, and there are far too many twists.  By the time Elizabeth pulls out the manilas folder and says, "Ok, let's have the real truth" I rolled my eyes so far back in my head I strained a muscle and thought, "What a load of old bollocks."

It's like the end of the Lord of the Rings films where it fades to black and you think that's the end, but nope! There's another scene and it just goes on and on.

My sister says the subsequent books are better.

No cliffhanger at least! Thank goodness for that.

Other than the disappointing end, a really excellent book.  I enjoyed the humour very much.
